Starting out in the hobby can be quite daunting for most so we try to ease new members into our group by firstly encouraging them to join our lively forum to get chatting with fellow members and then either meet some of the group at our home base in Bushy or our next available event. We are constantly expanding our membership, and are always on the lookout for new recruits or experienced reenactors. Our members are located from all over the UK.
The Pionier Grossdeutschland Eastern Front Living History Group not only attend public events and private battles through the year we are fortunate enough to have our home just on the outskirts of London in Bushey, Hertfordshire at the site of the WW2 operational HQ of the USAAF 8th Fighter Command.
The 1940's experience museum is a unique WW2 living history attraction which is opened to the public on the last Saturday of each month and we have the use of this centre for training, photos, filming AGM's etc. as and when we need it by kind permission by the centre management.
We are also available to meet new recruits at our new home The 1940's experience in Bushy Herts on the last Sunday of every month.

Young Members (16-18)
The Pionier Grossdeutschland Eastern Front Living History Group has a unique program to introduce young historians into the reenactment world early.
If you are aged 16-18 and have an interest in the Second World War in general this may be an opportunity not to pass up. This program allows you to depict young recruits fresh out of training enthusiastic to do your part for the German volk, on the Eastern Front from 1943 onward.
You will experience the extremes of the calmness of sitting around the campsite cleaning weapons under the ever present eyes of your older kamaraden to the burning heat of combat against continuous pressing odds. As with most things for youths these days, laws will stop you from experiencing the full benefits that our older members are given such as carrying firearms. However, thats never stopped any of our members of our youth program
getting stuck in manning our arsenal of weapons such as the infamous german 8 cm Granatwerfer 34.
If this sounds like your cup of tea sign up now via the contact form on this page or contact our dedicated Youth membership advisor via email.

Uniform & Kit
We know unless you are 100% sure this is the hobby for you gather together your kit can work out expensive but we can help you get kitted out for your first event in either German or Soviet via our group uniform pool, for those who have not doubts about joining up we can recommend our uniform supplier to give you a great discount.
FINALLY - take 5 or 6 months and attend as many events as you can manage with whoever you choose to go with and you will find that having the above gear allows you to tweak and tailor and add to your impression - the Learning Process will kick in and you will get much better results.
Membership
We attend around 6-8 public events per year but between these we will also have meet-ups at our Base in Bushy, Herts. You can be as active as you wish with many group projects always on the go all members help out when they can but its sole down to the individual how much time he can spare in the hobby.
The group does not have an age cap buy in keeping with the impression we do ask for members to be physically fit as battle re enactments can be very demanding and members do need to be quick on their feet when necessary.
